MOMBASA'S MAMBA DISCO NOW A GOSPEL JOINT

The trendy Mamba Club in Mombasa will now be turned into a gospel entertainment joint. The club will be under the supervision of John William Kameta who runs a company at the Coast dealing with 'ideas resolution'. The lease is said to be three years and two months. Late last year, enraged Lingala sensation Fally Ipupa's fans turned the club into a dump site as they smashed and stole every item from the club including beers after he failed to perform.
The Mamba Village Centre comprises Mamba Disco night club and Croco Club. It's owned by Hezron Awiti Bolo who is the national chairman of Kenya International Freighter Warehousing Association. "I will revamp the entertainment joint and put modern classic music system. I want to promote underground gospel artistes countrywide including those from the Coastal region," Kameta said.
Word Is has learnt that the club will fully start its operations in March. Those already approached for the grand opening ceremony include Radio Jambo breakfast presenter and comedian Erick Omondi as emcee, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of Jesus is Alive Ministries, who is also the assistant minister for Housing. On stage to thrill the gospel lovers will be Emmy Kosgei among other gospel artistes.
